Yoga for your health and wellnessThe word ‘Yoga’ originated in India. In India initially the word yoga was used as a means to spiritual mastery. But now a day the whole world sees it as a breathing and posture exercise. The practice of Yoga allows our soul, mind and body to unite and takes us back to a feeling of happiness and joy.
What are PranayamaPranayama is a breathing process, where we intend to control our breath. Pranayama has been derived from two words ‘paran’ + ‘yama’, prana means the breath and ‘ayama’ means ‘control’, so it a process of controlling the breaths. One can control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama and achieve healthy body and mind and can be free from various types of panic diseases if it is practices every day regularly.
What are yoga asanasYoga asanas are the Positions or Yogic Postures. When we do asanas we are supposed to stretch different parts of our body and breath properly. The practice of Yoga asanas (i.e. postures) allows the mind, body and breath to bring in the present, and drawing us back to a feeling satisfaction and peace. Apart from the Physical exercise yoga asanas are considered to benefit our mind, emotions and a sense of well being. Doing various yoga asanas everyday, our body gets maximum movement and the muscles become relaxed and toned. The spine, joints and ligaments are gently massaged, making the body supple. Each posture also and stimulates specify internal organs, improving the blood circulation, strengthening the digestion and aiding the body in the cleansing of toxins. Yoga asanas helps us keep ourselves refreshed, and comfortable both physically and mentally.
MeditationMeditation is a state of concentrated attention on some object to increase the awareness of present moment. It usually involves turning the attention inward to the mind itself and keeping the mind focused on in the present. Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth. Meditation can be used with other forms of medical treatment and is an important complementary therapy for both the treatment and prevention of many stress-related conditions. |
